Getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep has many benefits to your health.

Here is a chart of how much sleep you should get and a few of the many benefits of getting a good night’s sleep.

Age Recommended Amount of Sleep per Night
Newborns 16-18 hours
Preschool-aged children 11-12 hours
School-aged children At least 10 hours
Teens 7-10 hours
Adults 18+ (including the elderly) 7-10 hours

1) Good Sleep increases mental clarity and productivity. 2) Sleeping less than 7-8 hours per night increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. 3) Quality sleep increases the bodies metabolism and immune function 4) Poor sleep is linked to higher body weight.
