Getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep has many benefits to your health.

Here is a chart of how much sleep you should get and a few of the many benefits of getting a good night’s sleep.

Age Recommended Amount of Sleep per Night
Newborns 16-18 hours
Preschool-aged children 11-12 hours
School-aged children At least 10 hours
Teens 7-10 hours
Adults 18+ (including the elderly) 7-10 hours

1) Good Sleep increases mental clarity and productivity. 2) Sleeping less than 7–8 hours per night increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. 3) Quality sleep increases the bodies metabolism and immune function 4) Poor sleep is linked to higher body weight.
